Few things are more critical this time of year than the health of a team’s roster.
Obviously the Dallas Cowboys are far from immune to both this reality and the injury bug itself, but they’ve been luckier than most others in this regard. To help in that aspect, they sat Ezekiel Elliott, Tyron Smith and Zack Martin in the regular season finale against the New York Giants, the goal being to give rest to three of the most important players on the team. It worked in spades, and Elliott used the protection from Smith, Martin and Co. to rack up nearly 169 yards from scrimmage and two touchdowns to help take down the Seattle Seahawks in the Wild Card round. They’d unfortunately lose wide receiver Allen Hurns to a season-ending leg injury, and continue to monitor some nagging injuries elsewhere in the wideout corps — including a new one on Cole Beasley and tight end Blake Jarwin.
Listed as questionable on the final injury report heading into the Divisional Round against the Los Angeles Rams, the decision has now been made on both, as well as several others who won’t suit up on Saturday night.
Take a look.
