This Gaming Fan Turned His Television Into a Giant Nintendo Switch – Comicbook.com

Technology
. Fans of Nintendo games have awesome ways of showing their devotion to their favorite company, whether it’s with a collection filled with SNES and Nintendo 64 titles; or collecting a number of stuffed Mario dolls (or, dare we suggest, Tingle from the Legend of Zelda series). But one particular fan decided to go all out, essentially turning his television into a giant Nintendo Switch. As originally reported by DualShockers, a Reddit user by the name of Logbies recently shared documentation of his project, in which he custom built two large Joy-Cons (not working, but still cool-looking) and attached them to the sides of his television to resemble a huge Switch system. The Germany-based user managed to put together the Joy-Cons by hand, which also serve as a storage unit that can hol...

Apple’s HomePod will be available in China on Friday – The Verge

Technology
. In December, Apple said that it would begin selling its HomePod smart speaker in China “early next year.” Today, the company revealed that the device will go on sale in China and in Hong Kong on Friday, January 18th. The company began selling the HomePod a year ago in the US, and has since rolled it out to various countries in Europe. As my colleague Shannon Liao noted back in December, the HomePod has a bit of an advantage over some of the China’s domestic smart speakers with its ability to support both Mandarin and Cantonese, and that it is expected to cost RMB 2,799 (around $408.21), which is a bit above the US price of $350. .. . Rumour: Dataminer Uncovers SNES Games For Nintendo Switch Online Service – Nintendo Life

Technology
. The Nintendo Switch Online service has been chugging along at a steady pace since it officially launched in September last year. When it did arrive, a digital library of NES titles was made available as part of the subscription package, with more classics added to the service each month. Although Nintendo's focus is currently on NES titles in terms of retro offerings, according to a dataminer who has sifted through NES Online strings - apparently added in last month's Switch update, there's now evidence Super Nintendo games are planned for the service in the future. Below is the full list of titles, according to dataminer Kapu, who also goes by the Twitter handle @KapuccinoHeck. In total, there are 22 games on this list. Interestingly, the previously unreleased game Star Fox 2 feature...

New Nintendo Leak Possibly Pointing At N64 and GameCube Classic Consoles Coming Soon – Comicbook.com

Technology
. A new datamining leak perhaps reveals that Nintendo is gearing up to release not one, but two new classic consoles. As we reported on earlier today, a dataminer recently plunged into the files of the Nintendo Switch Online, and in the process, unearthed some pretty interesting things. As you will know, right now if you're subscribed to Nintendo Switch's online service, you get access to a range of emulated NES games on-the-house. And right now, it's only NES games. However, that may soon be changing. New files have been added, and consequently discovered, that provide pretty damning evidence that SNES games are coming to the service in the future. You can read more about this story by clicking here. But now here is where things get even more interesting. To couple the aforementioned di...

. However, the user has no previous posts or comments, so it is worth keeping in mind that this could be a marketing tactic by Samsung to generate more speculation about the Galaxy S10. The timing of the Reddit post is also suspect, mainly as it came just a day before Samsung announced its Galaxy UNPACKED event, where it is likely that the company will announce the Galaxy S10 series. The potential render is in keeping with Samsung's Infinity-O display, which the company debuted with the Galaxy A8s in December last year. The camera cut-out is on the opposite side of the screen to the A8s, but this consistent with other Galaxy S10 leaks on which we have reported. The Galaxy UNPACKED event will take place in San Francisco on February 20. All the laptops that came out at CES 2019 – Engadget

Technology
. With the latest release of NVIDIA's RTX ray-tracing laptop chips, any manufacturer can make a fast and lightweight laptop. To stand out now, you need to try something new, so this year at CES 2019, the focus was on displays and eccentric designs. Alienware's laptop featured an upgradeable CPU and GPU, ASUS unveiled an all-in-one-like ROG laptop and Acer's Predator Triton 900 had a singular hinge and exorbitant price tag. At the same time, there were many excellent-looking new models rocking NVIDIA's latest chips. Without further ado, here's a roundup of everything we saw. ...

Galaxy S10 needs to watch its back as sales slow and rivals like Huawei come on strong – CNET

Technology
. Samsung Samsung may have stolen CES 2019 by announcing the launch date of its upcoming Galaxy S10 (it's Feb. 20, by the way), but it was world's second-largest phone maker, Huawei, that turned out the best phone here at the show. That might not seem like much of a threat when you consider that there were few smartphones to speak of. Yet, the Huawei Honor View 20 has enough unique features on what will be a midprice device to make Samsung look over its shoulder.Samsung is currently the largest phone brand on the planet by sales volume, but it's hardly sitting pretty. Phones sales are slowing down, with even trillion-dollar Apple warning investors that it hasn't sold as many new iPhones a...
